With day 10, our trip is nearing its end.  I did find two photos on the web of the Middleton Plantation that we visited yesterday.  From our photos at ground level, you can not really get a feel for the layout of the property or gardens.  I thought these two overhead shots were pretty nice.

This first photo shows the interesting terracing in the "front yard" of the property along the river.

This second photo shows a great overhead view of the main garden area.

Once on the road in the morning, we had about a 400 mile drive from Columbia SC to Ripley WV.  This took us through South Carolina, to North Carolina....

Then into Virginia....

And finally, into West Virginia.

Overall, a fairly nondescript ride.  Once we hit West Virginia, we did get to spend some time in the "hills" :)

A couple tunnels spattered about to keep up your interest as well...

See the truck runaway ramp to the right of the highway lanes?  Every time I see one of these, I think to myself, boy, I would have to be in a really bad way to be convinced that running up that dirt path with my semi truck was a good idea !!

This little piggy went to market...

Another day behind us, and the weather continues to stay nice.  Nothing to complain about except the yard work waiting at home and going back to the office on Tuesday :)

Today we rode 409 miles from Columbia SC to Ripley WV. This brings our trip total to 2607 miles.  Below is a map of today's route.
