Day 1 of our East Coast trip is finally here!   The current weather forecast indicates a pretty wet week ahead.  Hopefully we can dodge the rain and storms.  Then again, how often are those forecasts accurate ??

The plan for today is to get on the road by 3:30 and head to Corning New York.  Not much to see along the way today, so only a few photos.

Here's a shot of the bike a trailer ready to go.  I did end up having to rebuild the shocks last weekend, as a fork seal was leaking fluid.  We also have a new tire on the front, and new tires on the trailer.  Let's hope for no tire issues this trip!!

Our ride today was short, but did take us through a portion of Pennsylvania...

and into New York.  Lennie missed the welcome to NY sign, so this sign on an overhead bridge will have to do :)

We crossed over Lake Chautauqua on the ride.  In the past, we would occasionally bring our boat here for the weekend.  Today, the lake looked pretty empty, but I bet it will be hopping over the long weekend.

We stopped in Salamanca to get some fuel.  Since we were trying to get to Corning before dark, we decided to skip the casino.  My guess is we are wealthier due to that decision.

We rolled into Corning (our home for the night) about 7:40.

Tomorrow we will head to Worcester Massachusetts, then up to Bar Harbor Maine on Sunday.  The forecast is calling for afternoon storms, so we plan to get on the road early.

We covered 258 miles from home to Corning, spending about 4 hours on the road.  Below is a map of the route from today.
