Day 24, our last day on the road. We woke up to our coldest temperatures of the trip, a brisk 60 degrees. Skies were cloudy and gray, and there was rain in the forecast for the afternoon. We loaded up, grabbed a quick bite of hotel breakfast food, and hit the road at 8:30 AM.

We passed Lucas Oil Stadium near Indianapolis. This is home for the Indianapolis Colts.

Lennie's last state border sign of the trip. Notice the ugly skies? At least by now, it had warmed up to about 70 degrees.

We passed a number of restored International trucks around Columbus Ohio. We also saw a handful of restored Jeep Scouts in this area. Perhaps there was some kind of show in the area?

This picture was taken about 15 miles from home. The skies looked like this all day long, but in the end, we had NO rain the entire day. Based on the clouds here, I told Lennie that with our luck, we would get dumped on with only a few miles left in the trip. :)

The rain never occurred, and the bike was back home in the driveway about 5:50 PM. Sad to see the trip end, but glad to be back home. Need to unpack, unwind, and wash the bike and trailer. Luckily we took Monday off as well, so we will have time for all of that tomorrow.

It's a wrap, our 48 lower states goal has now been accomplished. What's next, hmmmm.

Today, we traveled 511 miles from Effingham Illinois to Home. This brings the trip total to 6526 miles. Below is a map of the route from today.
