May 28 Day 1

We plan to begin our trip the afternoon of Friday, May 28th.  We will spend 1/2 day at work, and then hopefully hit the road by 2:00 PM.  Our goal is to get a few hours of road behind us.  We plan to get down to Carrollton KY.

Here are a couple of shots of the bike and trailer ready for the road.  Yes, the tailer is packed pretty full.  Lennie will try to tell you that I overpack for vacations, don't believe her !!

We left our house at 2:40 pm, and arrived at the Hampton Inn in Carrollton Kentucky around 8:30 PM.  We unpacked the trailer, grabbed a quick bite to eat, and called it a day.

The ride was pretty boring, as it was just a trek down Rt 71, and we have traveled this road many times, towing our boat to Lake Cumberland.

The next few days will be pretty boring as well, since we are really just clocking highway miles until we get to our first real destination on Monday (Roswell New Mexico).

We will be passing near Dallas Texas, so perhaps we will stop by Dealey Plaza, where President Kennedy was shot.  Maybe we will even take time to sit on the grassy knoll?
